This is a group for anyone interested in pursuing photography and improving their skills. All skill levels are welcome. I started this group because i want to share my experiences and my resources with other photographers and people just getting into it who want to learn how to compose photos, use studio equipment, and to give general knowledge on where to source things such as, clients, models, hair/makeup, and generally how to get a team together to create that photograph you envision.
Ever wonder why some photographers still use those old-fashioned field cameras with the cloth pulled over their head? It's not just that they are hiding from the world. It's because they enjoy it. Pure, simple photography. You and the camera. A chance to take photographs, not just press a button. And, there's no computer screen to stare at. The quality from a 4x5 or 8x10 negative is hard to beat. If this sounds like something you might find interesting, then this Large Format meet-up is for you. …
This group is best for DSLR portrait photographers - primarily for those who enjoy street portrait photography. Street portraiture requires you to actively engage strangers and get them to pose for you. It's the fastest way to improve your technique as you have to get everything right quickly and you will have limitless models to practice on. This is not a group for "candid" street photography. There will be the occasional modeling and landscape sessions but most of the shoots will be the adrena …

I love to shoot with a rangefinder, they're quiet, small and allow the photographer to create great images. Oh sure you can get nice photos with a SLR but they're not as fun to use as a rangefinder. If you shoot documentary work with a rangefinder than this group is for you... and by rangefinder I mean any of the Leica's but also the new digital wonders like the Sony RX1, NEX or Olympus compact system camera. Film or digital are welcome. Birds of a feather flock together.
